The DSS Board fully supports the latest report from the BC Seniors Advocate: “Ageing matters: What we heard from B.C. Seniors”
The ‘Ageing Matters’ report reaffirms BC seniors on fixed incomes are disproportionately impacted by the high cost of living and unable to absorb increased costs for housing, food, medical equipment, mobility aids and other necessities for healthy ageing.

Queer seniors: have your say about your future as a 2SLGBTQIA+ senior and about your plans for your future - especially staying in YOUR OWN home as long as possible.
The purpose of this consultation was to gather information to increase understanding of the experiences of older adults who are Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex, or who use other terms related to gender and sexual diversity (2SLGBTQI+) and living at home. Status: closed - this consultation ran from May 1, 2024 to July 17, 2024.
